Entsprechend der unterschiedlichen Kompetenzen, wird mit den zwei Altersgruppen etwas anders vorgegangen. Ist die Reise auf der Seidenstrasse ein Abenteuer für die kleinen, die in mehrere Schritten erarbeitet wird, so können die Größeren doch mehr. Statt Teppiche selber zu weben, beginnen wir hier Typologien und unterschiedlichen Verwendungen zu betrachten. Die Zusammenhänge entstehen in der ersten Gruppe durch das Zusammenbringen von Waren aus aller (damals bekannten) Welt. In der zweiten Gruppe werden aber komplexere Zusammenhänge, vor allem Austausch von Kulturtechniken im Vordergrund stehen.
Current Situation
We’ve given up any hopes of implementing this in schools due to the current political situation. Instead we have fallen back on the one resource still remaining, our neighborhood, and will implement the project in a one-off event at the end of this summer (2024). That means a lot of work still remains to be done.
Structure of the event
We are going to gather a small group of neighborhood kids who participate in the whole program. For the closing events we shall include their parents and younger siblings etc. in smaller roles.
First stage
Getting to know the materials, so the children will develope an overview.
intermediate stage
Here we will be concerned with what was transported, both goods and ideas, techniques and skills.

Pageant
Once this has been completed the children will begin to take on the roles of the travelers, extolling their wares. A pageant will take place, where the trip is enacted for family and friends, culminating in a Bazar with storytelling and strange food.
